Madison — Governor Scott Walker’s campaign released a new web video today highlighting a Wisconsin family benefiting from the Parental Choice Program.

The video features Dina, a mother with three children in the choice program. One of Dina’s children has Asperger’s and was struggling in the public school system. He is now succeeding in a school of their choice that they did not have access to before expansion of the program.

“Every child, regardless of income or zip code, deserves a great education,” said Governor Walker. “Our administration has invested in all forms of education whether it be traditional public, charter, choice, or home schooling. In a second term I will protect parents’ choices so their children can get the education that provides them with the opportunity to succeed.”

Governor Walker’s Record on Education:

  • Governor Walker invested $400 million in public education raising per pupil spending by $300 in the 2013 budget.
  • Governor Walker provided options to thousands of Wisconsin students and their families by expanding choice.
  • Graduation rates have risen since Governor Walker took office, and reading and math scores are up.
  • Wisconsin ACT scores have improved and stand second in the nation.
  • Governor Walker funded STEM grants for schools.
  • Governor Walker created scholarships for students who excel in technical education.
