Community Bankers of Wisconsin Endorses Gov. Tommy Thompson for U.S. Senate
Madison, WI – The Community Bankers of Wisconsin (CBW), a statewide association of more than 200 community banks, announced its support for Tommy Thompson for the U.S. Senate, citing his proven record on job creation, lowering taxes and fostering a pro-business environment.
“Community bankers support Tommy Thompson’s efforts to restore America by stimulating our economy through a focus on job creation and by cutting taxes and eliminating excessive regulations,” said Daryll Lund, president and CEO of the Community Bankers of Wisconsin. “CBW is proud to support the candidacy of Tommy Thompson and look forward to working with him as our next U.S. Senator.”
Governor Thompson knows the best way to create jobs and restore America is to create an environment that fosters entrepreneurial activity – not one that hinders it. As governor, Thompson cut taxes 91 times, saving Wisconsin taxpayers $16 billion and creating 740,000 new jobs.
“Wisconsin’s community banks are the lifeblood of our economy,” said Governor Thompson. “They make capital available for our most important investments, such as mortgages, higher education and small business growth. They create jobs and provide invaluable financial advice to individuals and small businesses alike. I’m proud to have the endorsement of the Community Bankers of Wisconsin, and I look forward to working with them to pass smart economic policy in the U.S. Senate.”
Thompson faces off against liberal Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin in November.
