Dear Editor:

How crazy is our culture becoming?  The highest paid teachers in the country (avg. $76,000 a year) go on strike in Chicago, even though 40% of their students never graduate from high school; the “Occupy” movement rhetoric damning the “rich” is echoed by our President as being a reason to implement his agenda; and the entitlement mentality is pushing our country into a great abyss!

Benjamin Franklin said, “When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic.”  What USED to be considered personal responsibilities (health care, education, food, housing, cell phones, etc.) have become “rights” that others are expected to pay for.

So how is our government paying for all these new “rights?”  Borrowing from China – that’s one way.  Have you heard about “Quantitative easing three (QE3)?”  This is the plan from the government to print money indefinitely to buy our own debt.  That’s like getting a new credit card to pay off the one you’ve already maxed out.  On 9/13/12, the Federal Reserve announced the launch a new $40 billion a month, open-ended, bond purchasing program of agency mortgage-backed securities.  Ratings firm Egan-Jones said it believes the Fed’s decision “will hurt the U.S. economy and, by extension, credit quality.” As a result the firm once again slashed the U.S. bond rating bringing it down to AA.  The United States is now ranked last on a list of 192 countries in economic strength!  China is ranked FIRST…

There is a solution to these problems.  This upcoming election will determine whether we have the will to survive as a free nation or not.  We need to elect LEADERS who will rein in spending NOW!  We not only need a President who will LEAD, we need Senators and Congressmen who will stand firm with the President.  Enough of this divide and conquer mentality of the current administration – we don’t need class warfare, racial warfare, neighbor against neighbor like our President keeps telling us we need.  Barack Obama keeps saying he wants to work with everyone – the problem is that’s all he’s done – TALK – to Letterman, Whoopi, Jay-Z, etc.

Let’s get beyond TALK – elect a President who WILL take ACTION!  Elect a President who takes responsibility instead of blaming others & FOUR years later is still blaming others!

Take time to watch the YouTube video “The United States Budget Dilemma.”
