LET THE FIGHT BEGIN
Nobody will be able to sell ammunition after June 30, 2009.
It has already started…Ammunition Accountability Legislation
Remember how Obama said that he wasn’t going to take your guns? Well, it seems that his allies in the anti-gun world have no problem with taking your ammo!
The bill 20 that is being pushed in 18 states (including Illinois and Indiana ) requires all ammunition to be encoded by the manufacture in a data base of all ammunition sales. So they will know how much you buy and what calibers.
Nobody can sell any ammunition after June 30, 2009 unless the ammunition is coded.
Any privately held uncoded ammunition must be destroyed by July 1, 2011. (Including hand loaded ammo.)
They will also charge a ….05 cent tax on every round so every box of ammo you buy will go up at least $2.50 or more!
If they can deprive you of ammo they do not need to take your gun!
This legislation is currently pending in 18 states: Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Washington.
Send to your friends in these states AND fight to dissolve this BILL!!

You need to get your facts stright. Yes this bill has been proposed – but it has been in committee for years. While at some point this may be passed, the June 09′ deadline is incorrect. This type of hysteria is what contributes to hording ammo and people who should not be buying guns, purchasing them. I am a gun rights proponent, but not everyone knows how to use one safely and should not be purchasing them. Our American right to bear arms comes with a huge responsibility to use and store them correctly. If the NRA was as hyper of making gun owners accountable for their fire arms, perhaps we would not be attracting the attention that we now are.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment. Although the legislation is still being worked on and a final date has not been verified, the idea that they even are this close to passing and enforcing such a bill is enough to cause the alarm to ring.
Yes, gun control has been an issue for years and I’m sure liberal gun control advocates have wanted to pass this sort of bill for a long time, but the reason I posted about it now is because, P-Bo, our President has an agenda, a Dem controlled congress and senate, and nothing to stop him but the voices of Americans who still care about the Constitution of the United States.
You do realize that this bill is a product of 2008’s legislation and that Obama has absolutely nothing to do with STATE legislation, right? You’re making it sound as thought Obama has had a direct effect on the gun control legislation in these states, when in fact, this is legislation that was begun by state legislatures before he was in office. A lot of what you’re presenting as fact is misrepresentation and some of it is out and out lies. Obama said he wouldn’t go after your guns and you’re not presenting any FACTS to prove that he is. Enough with the fear tactics. How about dealing in reality and factual information?
I think we should get rid of all guns and also get rid of all gun owners in the United States. These people are just crazy. With over 30,000 people killed a year by guns in the good “ol USofA, this country is just SICK! It is like a G..D.. shooting gallery around here.
HA HA HA HA HA!!! THE SKY IS FALLING!!! I know the real solution is to invest in companies that will profit as FOX regresses into further disarray and fear mongering. Then watch the profits roll in as the lemmings follow.
Typical ignorant-American panic. The wild-eyed run on ammo is compliments of a few e-mails that have circulated since about the time Obama got elected. Perhaps the NRA started the rumors. Perhaps Winchester or Hornady started the rumors. Who benefits from such conspiracy theorizing? Duh. Follow the money, folks! In the end, you’ll be thou$and$ in credit-card debt for all your panic-hoard buying, you’ll have an arsenal that’ll take you years at the pistol range to expend, and America will simply forge ahead as it always has. The Second Amendment isn’t likely to be changed, abolished, banished, or otherwise repealed in the next century. If all these trigger-happy rednecks truly knew their Constitution and process of law, they’d understand this simple statement. Instead, they parade around with their GEDs, tossing ad hominem at any argument they can’t wrap their brains around, and swallowing hook, line, and sinker any rumor that suits irrational “thinking.”
They can store all that ammo down in there Y2K bunkers next to their unused Honda generator. By the way old ammo can become unstable so in about a decade it will be interesting to watch the exploding arms cache news.
First things first. A .05cent/box tax on ammunition will NOT raise prices by 2.5 dollar (Unless you are buying boxes of 5000 bullets… im not even sure where one would by that… Costco?). Secondly, a 2.5 dollar increase is not that much. Thirdly, the shortage is not entirely obama’s fault, nor congress’s. It is in fact, the fualt of our free market exchange. As the price of copper and lead skuyrocket, so too do the prices of ammunition. I pull that from the NRA website… your bible im sure. Fact chck please.
And you scare mongers don’t take any responsibility, I suppose, for the increase in men shooting their families recently? The latest one is a guy who had been arrested previously for assault, but since the NRA refuses any real ID checks, I’m sure he walked into his local store and bought whatever he wanted.
And the Constitution says nothing about an individual buying an assault rifle, thousands of rounds of ammo, or anything else. The 2nd amendment refers to the right of a community to have a militia, ie, a police force, which is armed. How the NRA got it so twisted is beyond me.
Sam is right above. If the NRA were the least bit concerned about the welfare of citizens, they would not be rabid about no new laws, no new taxes, and any controls that localities need to have in place to stop gun violence. And please don’t tell me that “Guns don’t kill people.” Guns kill people, and that is what they are made to do.
Obama is going to find a way to attack our Second Amendment rights. Count on it. Before he started to run for president, he strongly favored severe restrictions on our Second Amendment rights. You can also count on Obama to be sneaky.
Obama will not face this issue head on. He will attack it sneaky ways. One such example is his support of international treaties that would all but nullify the Second Amendment. Another sneaky approach is via state legislative bodies as mentioned in your blog.
Buy your firearms and ammunition now while you still can. Remember that you can buy firearms older than 50 years old off the record. No FFLs are needed for these Curio and Relic transfers. Get the off record guns and hide them.
Max ~ it is $.05 a round ~ 50 rounds in a box = @2.50 per box extra.
Wow, all the comments great and certainly speak for themselves. I have another gun control post coming tomorrow, so check back.
Very happy that this important information was posted. Only through an informed electroate can we expect a democracy to prosper and continue.
Seems like a lot of these comments are from antigun people who don’t think any one should be allowed to own guns because they are afraid to own guns themselves and think the government know best.
BAH HUMBUG
Since reading “susan’s” post I now feel enlightened. “guns kill people”. Thank you for filling me in on that. I have never spent a day in a house where there were not guns and ammunition available. In my own experience the guns that I allow to live at my house never once found there way out of storage, wiggled their way to the ammunition stash, loaded themselves with ammo and went out to cap a pigeon. My guns hate pigeons. Even on the occasions when I lend assistance to their pigeon vendetta they are only marginally successful. Maybe one shot in ten. Now, they are somewhat more successful when it comes to capping cats. They don’t like cats either. But to my knowledge they have never capped a cat without help either. So I don’t think the argument that guns kill holds up. However there is a great deal of documented evidence that cars have homicidal tendencies. They often roll down hills and driveways, with obvious malice of forethought and no help from anyone and attack passing vehicles or inattentive pedestrians. Usually it is a gas guzzling SUV or large pickup truck, but on occasion a covered golf cart pretending to be a car goes a little whacko to and attempts to take someone out.
Now that I know how things happen, I need to apologize to President Obama and his cabinet appointees and nominees. I actually thought they were miserable law breaking tax cheats who should be in jail instead of running the government. Now I know that they MUST be the victims of a pencil conspiracy. Clearly a group of misguided pencils must have conspired to screw up all those tax returns just to cast the Messiah in a negative light. It feels so GOOD to be ENLIGHTENED. Thank you Susan–whoever you are….
