Happy New Year from the executive committee and myself to all our members and supporters.
Congratulations to Gae Magnafici in winning the 28th Assembly Seat with 59% of the vote, Brent Waak in winning Sheriff of Polk County and Joan Ritten in winning Polk County Clerk of Court with 58% of the vote. Also to Congressman Sean Duffy in being re-elected to Congress from the 7th District with 60% of the vote in the District. The Wisconsin Assembly in 2019 has 63 Republicans to 36 Democrats and the Wisconsin Senate has 19 Republicans to 14 Democrats. Governor Scott Walker had 34,000 more statewide votes in 2018 than in 2014 and Polk County contributed 1,520 of those votes unfortunately not all counties outperformed 2014.
The last week of December 2018 Speaker Robin Vos announced the Assembly Republican committee assignments. For the 2019-2020 session, Gae Magnafici will be the Vice Chair of the Committee on Substance Abuse and Prevention. She will also sit on the following committees: Aging & Long Term Care; Constitution & Ethics; Health; Jobs & the Economy; Mental Health; and Tourism. All of these are issues that Gae campaigned on and we look forward to her leadership and ideas in these areas.
I want to thank Adam Jarchow for serving the last 4 years as our 28th District assemblyman. Adam delivered conservative results, on homeowner’s property rights, hunting rights, ATV/UTV reform, and modernizing business law, and lowering taxes.
I want to thank Pete Johnson for serving 8 years as Sheriff of Polk County.
Here are some others that I want to thank. Mitch Sands campaign manager for Gae’s campaign for the hours of thought and planning and knocking on doors. The hosts for Gae Magnafici’s three fundraisers – Phil Mattison and Deb Dibble 5-23-18, Dick and Kris Hartung 8-23-18, and Alan and Elise Walker 10-26-18. The coordinators for our 3 Pints and Politics at JJ’s 35 Club 9-5-18, Crickets Bar and Grill 9-26-18, and Tippy Canoe 10-18-18 to allow more people to meet and greet Gae Magnafici and Brent Waak. Erik and Katie Severson for hosting the General Meeting and Pizza Party on 9-14-18. Adam and Barbara Jarchow for hosting the Leah Vukmir/Sean Duffy Rally at Crickets on 10-23-18. Margo Johnson and Cindy Thorman for setting up the fair booths in St Croix Falls and Osceola and volunteers that worked the booths. Pat and Gordy Peterson for the Ice Cream Booth and all the volunteers that scooped ice cream. Kirk Anderson for upgrading Facebook that received a lot more hits this campaign season. Terry Guanella for representing our local party by writing the Party Views in the Inter County Leader. Dick Gregory for giving us space on the Dresser Hwy 35 20 foot sign for displaying 5 large campaign field signs. Margo Johnson for Movie Nights on 10-24-18 The Enemies Within: Communists, Socialists and Progressives in the US Congress 2016 By Trevor Loudon and 11- 1-18 Trump@War by Steve Bannon. All the financial donors, all the walkers in the 17 parades that Gae and Tom Magnafici did, the letter writers that supported our conservative views and candidates, the property owners that let us place yard and field signs, and those volunteers that helped put up signs and the four sign locations run by Bob Blake, Adam Jarchow, and Erik Severson and myself.
I want to thank all of the Executive Team for their help.
Spring Election on April 2nd, 2019 for Judge Brian Hagedorn, a conservative, running for an open seat vacated by retiring liberal Justice Shirley Abrahamson on the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

I know with a strong local candidate and with President Donald Trump running again in 2020, we can win back the 10th Senate District which is now our goal.
