Today, Gae Magnafici, a Republican from Dresser, WI has announced her intention to run for the State Assembly from the 28th District.  The 28th Assembly seat has been held by now Rep. Adam Jarchow (R-Balsam Lake) since 2015.  He has announced that he will not be seeking re-election after holding the seat for two terms.

Gae was born and raised in the heart of the 28th Assembly District on a farm near Deronda, WI and went on to graduate from Amery High School.  She received a degree in Applied Science from Sauk Valley Community College in Dixon, IL in 1982 and went on to work as a registered nurse.  Currently, Gae lives outside Dresser, WI with her husband, Tom, where they own a small business together.

Spending her entire career in the healthcare field and retiring in 2017, Gae was a nurse for the past 35 years.  She cared for the developmentally disabled for the department of mental health, and most recently, caring for the children at St.Paul Children’s Hospital.  As healthcare continues to be a hot topic in both national and state politics, Gae intends on using her extensive knowledge and experience to help Wisconsin continue to be a leader in healthcare innovation and cost savings.

Gae commented, “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to run for public office and serve the people of the 28th District.  There is nowhere else in this world I would rather live–I love this place.  I would be honored to be able to serve in the State Assembly.”

She continued, “While I am so grateful and proud of the work that Governor Walker and Adam Jarchow have done–there is more to do.  The healthcare industry is changing every day and I would love to be able use my experience and skills to make life better for the people of Wisconsin.”

Gae has been endorsed by Rep. Adam Jarchow, former Rep. Erik Severson (R-Star Prairie), and former Rep. John Murtha.  Severson held the 28th Assembly seat for two terms during the 2010 and 2012 sessions and Rep. Murtha held the 29th Assembly seat for 10 years, retiring in 2015.
